“Wee Folk" from the Ulster Orchestra visited us today. Colm and Seamus brought different instruments with them. Can you remember what they were called?
Colm showed us his violin. He also called it another name. Can you remember what it was? Yes, that’s right it is also called a fiddle. We counted how many strings the fiddle had. Can you remember? Colm also told us about the bow. That is wasn’t made for fighting like swords but it was used for playing the fiddle. The bow was made from wood and horse’s hair.
Seamus had a special fiddle. It was an electric one. Seamus could play different sounds from it. One was an echoing sound. Can you remember the others?
