  3. Rebuke Me Not In Your Anger • Rebuke Is Not Something We Want • Nadab & Abihu (Lev. 10:1-3) • David (2 Sam. 12:7-12, 15b-18a) • We Shouldn’t Need Rebuke • We should serve God out of love • Ps. 100:2; Luke 1:67-75; 1 John 4:16-19

  4. Your Arrows Have Sunk Into Me • The Word of God Convicts Us • Heb. 4:12 – “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

  6. Sins Are A Heavy Burden • The Effects of Sin (38:3-8, 11, 12, 16) • Lack of health (3,7) • Heavy burden (4) • Festers because of foolishness (5) • Brings us low & causes mourning (6) • Crushes us (8) • Friends & family are driven away (11) • Gives enemies an opportunity (12, 16)

Sins Are A Heavy Burden • The Effects of Sin (38:3-8, 11, 12, 16) • Do We Want to Carry Them Around? • Let others help us – Galatians 6:2 – “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” • Confess our sin – Ps. 38:18; James 5:16 – “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.”

Sins Are A Heavy Burden • The Effects of Sin (38:3-8, 11, 12, 16) • Do We Want to Carry Them Around? • We Need God to Lift Them From Us • Humble ourselves (Jms. 4:10; 1 Pet. 5:6) • Put on the yoke of Christ (Matt. 11:28-30) • Be baptized (Acts 2:38; 1 Pet. 3:21) • Only He can cleanse us (Isaiah 1:18)

Wait On The Lord • Be Patient & Trust in God to Answer (38:15) • Paul in Phil. 4:11-13 • Our Sighing Is Not Hidden From Him (38:9) • We can approach God (Eph. 2:13-18) • He hears our prayers (Rom. 8:26) • Jesus is our mediator (1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 9:15) • He Will Make Haste to Our Salvation (38:21-22) • He Will Renew Those Who Wait On Him • Isaiah 40:30-31; Romans 12:1-2
