BUT… • TV Campaign Is Ineffective – Shown During “Prime Times” – Aimed Wrong Age Group • People Avoid Checkpoints By Parking Car Beyond Checkpoints • Policing Small Rural Roads Impossible • HSE Say Our Limit Is Too High • Attitude Problem – People Were Outraged At Random Breath Testing - They Could Not Break The Law

  5. Conclusions • Still A Major Problem • Need Change In Attitude • Need Change In Campaigns – Something Different Required e.g Cinema • Not A Problem For Young People But Will Pass On From The Older Generation • Public Transport Needed In Rural Areas
