  2. Outline of plot • Narrator hear his brother Sonny is in with drugs. • Lives his life and starts writing to his brother. • Sees his brother again after he is released. • Sonny gets his life back.

  3. Character • Dynamic • Sunny • Narrator • Both go through big changes that affect their lives and change who they are.

  4. Tone • Anger- the narrator is angry that his life is not as good as others. Sunny is angry at the narrator for not letting him live his life • Suffering- Sunny suffers through drug abuse and narrator suffers through loss of his daughter and seeing his brother.

  5. Symbols • Dark and light- the ups and downs in life and good and bad. • In the kitchen his is going back and forth between the light and dark • When sunny is playing it is light. • Music- only bad people play music. Music and drugs go hand in hand. • Narrator says that the music is bad.
