FRYDERYK CHOPIN 1 Born in 1810 in Żelazowa Wola Died in 1849 in Paris Chopin is considered to be one of the most important composers of the romantic period in Europe. He was also one of the most famous pianists of his time. He was often called ”the poet of the piano”.

MAZURY 2 Mazury is situated in the north – east of Poland It is often called THE LAND OF A THOUSAND LAKES.
Mazury is a paradise for sailors and canoeists as well as lovers of nature.
Here you can also find Piska National Park with a variety of wild animals.
AMBER 3 BALTIC AMBER – can be found mostly along the south coast of the Baltic Sea. It was created from the fossil resin of conifers about 40 million years ago.
Some pieces of amber contain inclusions of animals and plants dating back to the Tertiary and Cretaceous periods.
Amber – THE GOLD OF THE NORTH – is used by artists to create jewellery.
THE DRAGON OF WAWEL FROM CRACOW 4 The legendary dragon lived on the Wawel Hill in Cracow. He would terrorize the inhabitants of the city and devour young girls. None of the knights was able to defeat the dragon.
It was Dratewka – the shoemaker who finally made it. He stuffed a lamb with sulphur and placed the animal in front of the dragon’s cave. The dragon ate the lamb and started to feel very thirsty. He went by the Vistula River and drank the water from the river. He drank so much that he burst.
