Artistic Freedom with nationalism and dissonance is connected Because you do something that has a meaning, and not yet put together.
Romantic era inventions 1840- First electric light bulb. 1876- Bell invents the telephone. 1877- Edison invents the phonograph, patented in 1878. 1883- automobile motor patented by Daimler.
German Politics • Europe is in charge of Germans. • one could divide the main part of the Romantic era into two schools of composers. *music is clearly Romantic in style and feeling. *Composers are ddefinite with pushing boundaries.
Wars • Civil war is a fight against culture and society or nationalityover political power. • It was caused by the growing economic power of to the south
Historical background • Music evolves from the society which its created. • For example the improvements to the machines in the industrial revolution contributed to the improvements in the workings of the instruments. • The social developments was the rise of middle class music. • Romantic composer did not feel constrained by form. Breaking through boundaries was now an honorable goal shared by the scientist, the inventor, and the political liberator. Music was no longer universal; it was deeply personal and sometimes nationalistic.
