2. Overview Detailed Troop Decon (DTD) involves:
Turn-in, Decon, and Reissue of troop gear
Checking for and deconing troop MOPP gear
Re-issuing of new MOPP gear as required
As a member of the DTD, you will:
Monitor, identify, and handle contaminated items
Ensure the safety of troops being deconned
Re-issue MOPP gear and equipment to troops
3. Decon Comes in 3 Levels:
Immediate
- Skin decon
- Operator spray down
Operational
- Vehicle wash down
- MOPP Gear exchange
Thorough
- Detailed troop and equipment decon (DTD, DED)
- Reduce contaminants to a negligible risk

7. - Good for 24 hours in a contaminated environment
- 45 day life after opening the package
- Can be laundered up to 6 times if not contaminated
- Water resistant, but not waterproof
- Old style gloves and boots still used with the JSLIST, will provide 24 hours of protection in a contaminated environment
8. Gear & Equipment - Wallet like pouch with 6 decon packets
- Black reactive and absorbent resin powder
- Attached strap for inserting fingers
- Applied by patting- not rubbing
