MD-Grid NGI Kick-Off • Establishment MD-Grid NGI in Moldova uses the model of Joint Research Unit (JRU) Consortium belonging to NREN, recognized as Coordinating body and based on: • Recognition and support by Ministry of Information Developmentof Moldova • Recognition and support by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova • Signed and adopted Agreement with NGI participants, that applied Letters of Intent to attend Joint Research Unit UC2007 A.Andries 2

MD-NGI Cooperation Agreement (1) • 1. The main scope of the JRU Consortium is to co-ordinate activities oriented towards the implementation of the MD-GRID integrated project, including all its component projects. • 2. In line with the scope, the major objectives of the Consortium are as followings: • 2.1. To increase awareness about MD-GRID activities and benefits among potential users. • 2.2. To encourage and facilitate the involvement of other interested and competent institutions nation wide. • 2.3. To support the development of the MD-GRID integrated project as a consistent and coherent part of the European R&D activity in this field. UC2007 A.Andries 6
MD-NGI Cooperation Agreement (2) • 3. To achieve these objectives the main action lines of the Consortium include: • 3.1. Dissemination of information received from European institutions which is relevant for the development of the GRID domain. • 3.2. Implementation of the Consortium enlargement mechanism based on the capacity of candidate institutions to promote and fulfill MD-GRID component projects. • 3.3. Representation of the MD-GRID integrated project in the international cooperation, including FP7 European projects. • 3.4. Monitoring the implementation of the new culture in scientific cooperation at the national level, based on sharing both resources and benefits to achieve common objectives. UC2007 A.Andries 7
MD-NGI Cooperation Agreement (3) • 4. In all its activity the Consortium will rely on a highly qualified advisory support provided by an international group of experts. • 5. The Consortium activity will be coordinated by the Research and Educational Networking Association of Moldova, represented by Acad. Andrei Andries, General Director. • 6. Executive representatives for the MD-GRID integrated project appointed by member institutions of the Consortium are presented in the Appendix. UC2007 A.Andries 8
