PEP-II Magnet study M. Sullivan, G. Yocky PEP-II meeting Feb. 26, 2007
What this is • A look at the magnet RMS (ripple) values • Made a spread sheet of all LGPS supplies • RMS calculation is complicated
Magnets in question • HER • B3, B3M • BLF • SQ4L • SQ3L • SQ3R • SQ2L • SQ2R
B3 History 1997 to now
BLF Point is that BLF is very different from BLFM 1997 to now
SQ4L compared to SQ4R SQ4R 2001 to now 1997 to now SQ4L SQ4R
SQ3L and SQ3R Histories 1997 to now SQ3L SQ3R
SQ2L SQ2L and SQ2R SQ2L 2005 to now 1997 to now SQ2L SQ2R
Magnets in Question • LER • HK1 • HK1L • SKG1, SKG2, SKG3, SKG4 • SK4L, SK4 • SK3L, SK3 • SK2L, SK2
HK1 and HK1L VK2R 1998 to now HK1 HK1L
Global Skews and Local Skews All local Skews have this RMS history SK4 1998 to now SKG1 SKG4
Summary • Several magnets look like they have a larger RMS value than they had in the past • Some supplies have a much larger RMS value than neighboring supplies with similar magnets • Some sets of magnets seem to have the same RMS histories (which are high). This may be some sort of readout problem. • Need to show this data to PEM • Should get ready to swap out supplies when we are convinced we want to
