  2. How to use to be • To be consist of: Is, am, and are. • In a sentence consist of: Subject and predicate. • Predicate can be a noun, adjective, and adverb(place, time, and manner). • The uses “to be”, we put after subject or before predicate, and the function of “to be” as auxiliary.

  3. Positive sentence S + to be + adj/noun/adv I + am + adj/noun/adv You We They He She It + are + adj/noun/adv + are + adj/noun/adv

  5. Negative sentence S + to be + not + adj/noun/adv I + am + not + adj/noun/adv You We They He She It + are + not + adj/noun/adv + are + not + adj/noun/adv

  6. Interrogative sentence • Interrogative sentence is question sentence to ask something. • To make interrogative sentence, we just moved “to be” in the first sentence. • The answer of interrogative sentence always using “yes or no”. • It can be short or complete answer.

Or no, I am not a teacher. • Are the students in the library now? Yes, they are. Or yes, they are in the library. No, they are not. Or no, thety are not in the library.
