  2. Vocabulary Excretory System the organ system that removes wastes from the body. Kidney the main organ of the excretory system. Transpiration the process by which water moves out of plants through tiny holes in the leaves.

  3. Body Systems Respiratory System takes in oxygen cells need. Circulatory System carries nutrients to the cells. Digestive System breaks down food to release nutrients. Excretory System gets rid of the wastes in the body.

  4. Organs of the Excretory System Kidney Filters out urea, water, and other wastes from blood. Bladder Storage for the urine until it is full. • Ureters • Urine (made from the filtering process in the kidney) flows through these tubes to the bladder. • Urethra • The place where urine flows out of the body from.

  5. How Plants Rid Themselves of Wastes Plant cells produce wastes. They store these wastes in a large central vacuole.

  6. Waste materials in plants. Include oxygen & water. These materials move out of plants through tiny holes, called stomata. Water moves out of plants by transpiration. Water moves out of a plant through the tiny holes and evaporates.
