Course selection requires time!! (You have much more time this year than last year!!!) Not every course is available in every period so it may not be possible to schedule all of your choices The school timetable is built based on student selections—the ones that you are making now. Timetable changes (and, in particular, level changes) are very difficult to make once the timetable has been set. CHOOSE WISELY
Each Subject Area in the Course Book contains flow charts like this one.
Each course offered at Canterbury is identified and described in the Course Book.
You will make your course selections online. We are using Career Planner by Career Cruising See the tutorial at https://www.careercruising.com/home/CPVideo.aspx WEB BASED COURSE SELECTION
If you do not have the prerequisite this program will not accept your selection Students in the Arts Canterbury program should enter the 2 course codes provided by your Arts Teacher. Remember: course selections can NOT be changed once submitted Entering your courses
Option Sheet Checklist is found on the website Print and use it as a guide to ensure you have all the required documents to submit to your period 1 teacher when required (we’ll announce it).
Courses are filled on a first come first serve basis Remember there is not a section of every course in every period
The course calendar with prerequisites and descriptions can be found on the Canterbury website. Follow the link off the NEWS tab on the front page to the Student Services webpage Our School Website(www.canterburyhs.ocdsb.ca)
Questions??? Please come to student services over the lunch hour with any course selection questions!!
