Peer into Success OBJECTIVES • Provide capacity building support for BME and Refugee voluntary or community organisations • Improve confidence in engaging in tendering of services • Encourage networking and sharing of skills, experience and knowledge within the sector
Peer into Success WHAT IS ON OFFER? • Thematic Approach • Needs Analysis / Health Checks • Identify Capacity Building Support and link into services • Match with Peer Mentor for informal support • Added value from GMBMEN through; workshops, training and other GMBMEN resources and staff support
Peer into Success WHO IS IT FOR? • BME and Refugee Voluntary & Community Organisations that want to be engaged in the delivery of public service contracts and get themselves ‘tender-ready’ WHO WILL BE INVOLVED? • Local capacity building organisations • Generic VCS organisations • Experienced colleagues to act as mentors • National capacity building providers • GMBMEN project partners
Peer into Success HOW WILL IT WORK? • Todays event – Expression of Interest – will also be sent out to stakeholders to distribute with a mid-Oct deadline • Selection stage • Briefing session for selected organisations with capacity builders and peer mentors • Healthcheck/Needs Analysis – result in action plan • Support from capacity builders, mentors and GMBMEN staff to work through action plan • Y2 support will take place between October – June 2011
Peer into Success ENGAGING THE WIDER SECTOR & ADDING VALUE • Tapping into national and regional capacity building programmes e.g. NAVCA tendering support & Business Link NW leadership programme • Looking at working across districts and pooling support to bring local offers to the wider district (GM) e.g. PQASSO @ Rochdale, tendering support @ Wigan & Leigh CVS
