  8. BACKGROUND By now, civilizations all over the world are entering an agricultural revolution – an era in which new tools and technologies are being developed to grow more food on early farms. As food production increases worldwide, the number of people living on the planet explodes exponentially, too. As a result, governments compete with one another to secure enough natural resources – like fertile farmland, fresh water and mineral wealth - to sustain their civilizations and protect their people.

BACKGROUND With so much at stake, this kind of winner-take-all competition sets in motion a near constant clash of cultures throughout the ages in which some civilizations rise while others fall. In fact, for a fortunate few, their rise in power will result in the growth of great empires, giving those governments – and their leaders – the opportunity to shape how history happens.

BACKGROUND Consequently, to protect your people from the perils of HISTORIA, your government must use sound judgment to make wise decisions – always and without exception - because even one mistake may make a monumental mess of things.
