The Guiding Vision… The visionof Justice & Witness Ministries is of a more just, peaceful and compassionate world that honors all of God’s creation.
In Service to the Vision: The mission of Justice and Witness Ministries is: To speak and act prophetically through community mobilization, leadership training, issues education, public witness, and public policy advocacy.
What is Justice LED? JusticeLeaders Engaging and Developing is a leadership developmentcurriculum and train-the-trainer programthat offers an exploration of justice as an essential part of our Christian calling.
The Goal of Justice LED: To educate, empower and encourage congregation members to engage in theological and socio-cultural reflection on the justice dimensions of Christian faith and discipleship, and, ultimately, to discern and act on justice issues that they have passion for and in ways that make sense for them.
Justice LED can help your church or ministry by: 1) Enabling individuals and congregations to better understand the Biblical and socio- cultural grounding for doing justice work
Justice LED can help your church or ministry by: 2) Offering leadership development for lay leaders and clergy who care about justice and wish to share Justice LED with their congregations
Justice LED can help your church or ministry by: 3) Empowering people and congregations to be faith-based champions of justice, able to reflect, engage with others and act upon justice issues that matter to them
Justice LED helps equip people for advocacy! ADVOCACY is… • An action taken by individuals, groups, or organizations to defend, support, or protect others. • Standing with or for a person or group that is disadvantaged or denied justice in society. • In the effort to bring about justice, advocacy may include education, affecting public policy, joining coalitions, and participating in nonviolent actions. • Effective advocacy supports individuals and groups working to correct the injustices or abuses to which they are subjected.
