Outcomes from a 9010 TWI Program in California • This program has been in operation for over 7 years, so its students are in middle school. • Background Information on Students: • 68% ELL, 32% EP • Of ELL: 63% on free lunch • Of EP: 35% on free lunch; 69% Latino & 13% Anglo • Remember -- in interpreting norm-referenced tests, NCEs of 45-55 represent grade-level scores. 9010 TWI Program -- Dec 2006

Reading Achievement Assessed in Spanish (SABE2)TWI vs. District vs. State • EPs, FEPs, & ELLs scored above average to very high. • They scored higher than the state and equal or superior to district averages. • Scores decreased, (still above average) after 6th grade--when students moved to the middle school. 9010 TWI Program -- Dec 2006
