Seton Hall • I love Seton Hall and I’m a proud pirate! • I am majoring in secondary education with a social studies concentration. • I’m a member of the FLI club (Freshman Leadership Institute) • I love the small class sizes in all my classes. • I’m a commuter so the 15 minute drive to school is very convenient. • I love how close SHU is to NYC. • My favorite thing to do is go to the men’s basketball games!
Family • I live with my mom, dad, sister, and brother. • My sister Katie is 8 and my brother Danny is 22. • We live in Roselle Park, NJ because it is close to many of my other family members. • My mom has a very big family, most of whom are from Egypt. • My dad has a much smaller family that are either English or Irish. • When we have family gatherings there is always a ton of food! • All of the family on my mom’s side goes to the same church as me and my family.
My Roots • My family always takes an annual vacation in the summer to a different place. • Every Friday night, my family and I go out to dinner. • Every couple of years my whole family goes to Egypt in December to visit some of my extended family there. • On Saturdays my family enjoy going to the mall and on Sundays we go to church and have a family dinner. • When the weather is nice, my mom and I like to go for a morning bike ride together.
Fun Time • Shopping in the city is one of the most fun things to do. • whenever the weather is nice out I like to: play basketball run ride my bike • I enjoy going to the gym early in the morning, to get energized and stay healthy. • I love to listen to music and watch movies. • My friends and I always love to go to the city or the beach in the summer time. • I also love to spend time with my youth group friends from church and get involved in different volunteer work.
Road Blocks • Balancing school work with a social life has always been hard, but I have learned how to manage both. • I always used to procrastinate in high school, but I have learned to always start things ahead of time in college when I can. • I have learned to be more tolerant of different ideals and that it is not my place to judge others. • It used to be hard to communicate with some of my family members in Egypt, but now I can communicate with them much more often because of the enhanced social media like Facebook. • I used to have really bad endurance when I was younger, but since I have worked out so much over the years, I have become much more acclimated to higher intensity exercise.
The Future • I plan on graduatingSHU in 4 years with a bachelors in secondary education/social studies. • I would like to teach in a high school as a history teacher after I have graduated. • I would like to attend graduate school for a masters in education while I teach for the first couple of years. • I would like to move to move to San Diego, California or Miami Beach, Florida a couple of years after I graduate.
