  4. Metals used: Gold (too expensive now) White gold Ultrium (like stainless silver, cheapest now) During the war, copper was used Stones: Mined in Germany Made – synthetic NOTE – both companies will replace missing stones Or you can still order a class ring!

  5. Designs Common – stone in middle with years or initials on side Stone or color had many selections Five years ago Jostens obtained permission for KU to use the Powercat mascot Rings are all now designed online and Josten’s makes them!

  6. Price 25 years ago, gold was $300 an ounce, now $1700 Metal changed but the average cost is $250 Official school rings are still available for less than $100 On the average, 50 -75 students per class order a ring
