Hypochondriasis • Patient experiences intense fears about their health and/or developing a serious disease. • Patients think they are developing an illness and symptoms appear, even if they don’t have it. • Unable to control their worry. • Seek reassurance from doctors/family often about their health.
Pain Disorder • Patient experiences unexplainable pain which disrupts every day life. Pain increases in intensity over time. • No physical explanation of pain can be found. • Causes: • Stress and worry • Physical and Sexual Abuse
