Year-round Courses Offered by Application Only Yearbook Student Government-ASB Selective criteria will apply and varies by program
Home Arts • Semester course • Educational and hands on activities including cooking and nutrition, clothing design and sewing, and childcare knowledge and skills.
Art • Offered as a semester or year-round option (Art 7) • Drawing and painting, sculpture, architectural design concepts, art history, graphics, pastels, pen and ink, air brush, and jewelry making
Technology Processes • Semester course • Explores various technology software and tools used in the workplace and may include student projects such as building raceable dragsters, launchable rockets, and creating audio and visual technology projects.
Computer/Technology Processes • Year-round course • Combines Technology Processes with Computer Software Skills • Rotates approximately every 10-12 days from learning a new & specific piece of computer software to Technology Processes • Computer software includes video production, multimedia presentations, digital animation, graphic design and web page creation
Music • Performance based year-round groups participating in both school and community events; placement in higher levels is based on teacher recommendation • Band – Concert Band, Wind Ensemble • Orchestra – Advanced Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, String Ensemble • Chorus – Concert Choir, Madrigals, Voice Ensemble
Spanish 1A • Year-long course • The study of Spanish grammar, pronunciation, and simple conversation. • 2 year sequence – Spanish 1B follows in 8th grade. • Allows students to study a foreign language at a slower pace to build a stronger foundation for future foreign language learning. • Combined with Spanish 1B, counts toward 1 year of college entry requirements if minimum grade achieved all four semesters
Yearbook • Application required • Due March 14 • Students shall plan and produce the annual school yearbook which shall include: • Design of yearbook pages using desktop publishing • Taking photographs throughout the year • Studying and comparing journalistic styles • Applications available beginning today from the Front Office or from Mrs. Cummings
Student Government - ASB • Application required • Due March 14 • Learn leadership skills, plan and oversee school budget, fundraising, plan and organize all student activities including dances, lunchtime activities, dress-up days and special events. • Applications available beginning today from the Front Office or from Ms. Davis
Front Side of Form • Print both first and last name at the top of the form • Be sure to sign the bottom and have your parent sign • Include four choices • If you choose a semester choice as your first choice, be sure to include at least one additional semester choice • Do NOT include Yearbook or ASB as any of your choices! • Forms will be passed out today in 5th period and are due March 7thto your Social Studies teacher.
