  2. CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD CHAPTER’S SUMMARY OF EVENTS • Chapter and Global Education • The Chapter held 10 educational meetings this year. These meetings consisted of topical education presentations from guest speakers, open roundtable discussions and ended with a networking/social event (i.e. Golf, Cocktails, etc.). The education sessions included: • Alternative Energy Options and Suppliers. (7/30/10) • 3rd Annual Club Technology Symposium - followed by San Jose Giants vs. the Stockton Ports (8/23/10) • Direct Access Utility Programs - followed by its annual social event aboard the Hornblower Cruise Lines (9/24/10) • Role of Controller in interaction with departments (10/29/2010) • Privacy, Tax Exempt, Taxable Club issues (11/19/2010) • Sales & Use Tax for California Clubs (1/28/2011) • Bank Analysis systems (2/25/2011) • Inside Information and Secrets Your Broker, PG&E, and Vendors Won’t Tell You (3/25/2011) • Credit card payments/fees/regulations/PCI compliance (4/29/2011) • Energy efficiency and different energy reduction projects, rebate and incentive programs in the Bay area (5/27/2011) • We are proud that from 20% to 35% of our chapter membership attends the educational chapter meetings.   3. CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD CHAPTER’S SUMMARY OF EVENTS • Chapter and Global Education • The Chapter hosted its 3rd Annual Regional “Future of Club Software Symposium” on August 23, 2010. This workshop included representatives from 3 vendors of various technology solutions - each giving a 1 hour presentation. The vendors represented were LobbyLync, Accubar, and COS Industries • The event was followed by a social event where we enjoyed some tailgating, San Jose Giants at 7:00 PM vs. the Stockton Ports and BBQ on the VIP deck of Memorial Stadium . • The Chapter again hosted a CHAE examination on May 2, 2011 which included 4 two-hour review sessions during April prior to the exam date (April 4, 11, 18 and 25). Five members attended one or more of the review sessions HFTP-Bay Area Club Chapter

CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD CHAPTER’S SUMMARY OF EVENTS • Chapter and Global Education • The Chapter was well represented at the Annual Convention & Tradeshow in San Diego this year with 17 members attending. We were one of the largest groups in proportion to our chapter size. HFTP-Bay Area Club Chapter

CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD CHAPTER’S SUMMARY OF EVENTS • Chapter and Global Education • In addition to the various post meeting social events the Chapter hosted its annual social event aboard the Hornblower Cruise Lines where members and guests enjoyed hors’ devours and cocktails and dinner. HFTP-Bay Area Club Chapter

CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD CHAPTER’S SUMMARY OF EVENTS • Chapter Affiliation Agreement and Membership • The Chapter signed and submitted its Chapter Affiliation Agreement with the HFTP Global office. • The Chapter Board of Directors met 11 times during the year to prepare and review the education and meeting schedules for the year. • Meetings were held prior to all educational meetings • Additionally, the board participated in a “board retreat” in June of 2011. • Chapter President Sharon Cary and Vice President Morgan Killion attended the • Leadership Academy at the San Diego Annual Convention. • The Chapter submitted annual Financial Reports with the HFTP Global office as required and submitted two quarterly reports on behalf of the chapter. • The Chapter added 13 members to its roster during the year and retained most (over 90%) of it’s membership. CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD CHAPTER’S SUMMARY OF EVENTS • Communication and Charitable Involvement • The Chapter had 1 representative serving on HFTP Global Committees. • Global Nominating Committee – Mick Nissen • The Chapter publishes a quarterly electronic newsletter “The BACC Journal”. • During the year the Chapter published 3 volumes of its newsletter • The Chapter maintained its website www.hftp-bayareaclub.orgduring the year. The website includes: • Calendar of Events • Links to Global events and announcements • History of the Chapter • Summary of Past Meetings and Events • Past Newsletters • A link to its Discussion Group (a Google Group to accumulate various surveys and discussions by members) HFTP-Bay Area Club Chapter

CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD CHAPTER’S SUMMARY OF EVENTS • Communication and Charitable Involvement • Student Involvement • This year the Chapter awarded it’s first scholarship to Eun Sze of the Professional Culinary Institute in Campbell California. The institute has changed and no longer offers a suitable program, so the chapter has partnered with the student chapter of the CMAA to award a scholarship each year to a student in another school. For this year we have an endowment $1,500 for distribution to the next incoming class (August 2011). HFTP-Bay Area Club Chapter HFTP-Bay Area Club Chapter

CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD CHAPTER’S SUMMARY OF EVENTS • Communication and Charitable Involvement • The Chapter performed a local community service project which included a day at the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Mateo. This project was so satisfying and fun we’re going to make it a regular event. • Additionally, the Chapter collected canned goods at each of out quarterly chapter meeting which were delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
