Solar System The Solar System has nine planets. They are,Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and the last of all is Pluto.
Mercury Mercury was named by the Romans after the fleet-footed messenger of the gods because it seemed to move more quickly than any other planet
Venus Venus is the second planet from the sun and the sixth largest. Venus' orbit is the most nearly circular of that of any planet, with an eccentricity of less than 1%.
Earth Earth is the third planet from the Sun and the fifth largest:
Mars • Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and the seventh largest:
JUPITER • Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and by far the largest. Jupiter is more than twice as massive as all the other planets combined (the mass of Jupiter is 318 times that of Earth).
URANUS Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun and is the third largest in the solar system. It was discovered by William Herschel in 1781
NEPTUNE Neptune is the outermost planet of the gas giants. It has an equatorial diameter of 49,500 kilometers (30,760 miles). If Neptune were hollow, it could contain nearly 60 Earths. Neptune orbits the Sun every 165 years.
Pluto • Pluto orbits beyond the orbit of Neptune (usually). It is much smaller than any of the official planets and now classified as a "dwarf planet". Pluto is smaller than seven of the solar system's moons (the Moon, Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, Titan and Triton).
