AOS Core Competencies Proximity Operations Sensors Automatic Target Recognition Biometrics Autonomous Helicopter Resupply Non-contact Fingerprint Detection Target Detection And Tracking Satellite Servicing Target Classification Biometric Corridor Commercialization Of Biometric Technology Autonomous Rendezvous and Docking Ship Board Threat Detection

  4. Proximity Operations Sensors NASA/GFSC NASA/MSFC NASA/JSC AR&D For ISS (Active) Robotic Systems Satellite Servicing NASA/GSFC • Proximity Operations • Systems • Mechanical • Opto-Mechanical • Electrical • Optical • Software/Firmware • Systems Integration US Army Autonomous Slingload (Active) Rendezvous and Proximity Operations

  5. NASA STTR Topic Of Interest • NASA STTR Topic 8: Autonomous Systems • Autonomous and robotic systems are a critical capability in all of NASA’s mission areas including Aeronautics, Earth and Planetary Sciences, and Human Spaceflight and will be more pervasive in the future. Current systems are primarily automated, able to respond to a predicted set of conditions and require human interaction and control. The goal of this topic area is to develop technologies and capabilities that will lead fully autonomous systems that are able to learn and adapt to changes in their environment that were not predicted to accomplish the mission goals with minimal or no human involvement required, particularly if communication delays are significant or unavailable. Specific capabilities include perception, cognition, and mobility/manipulation to enable Multi-robotic systems, Atmospheric Flight and Remote Sensing and Navigation in GNSS-Denied Environments. • Leveraged Capabilities • Extensive background in proximity operations sensors for autonomous systems • Ability to deliver spaceflight hardware (Hubble, DART, Orbital Express, Express Logistics Carrier) • Experience providing navigational information to GN&C systems for closed loop control • Opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical experience with grappling technologies for robotic systems • Portfolio of target and object recognition algorithms for real-world applications • Track record of successful integration and test into DoD airborne platforms in rugged environments
