  2. The following is an animated tutorial on the analysis and use of the Congruency data. It is recommended that you review it in presentation format Rights reseved rli llc

  3. Congruency, as we define it, is the simple “correlation” between what a leader perceives he/she isdoingwith what direct reports perceive the leader is doing. Rights reseved rli llc

  4. In practical terms: this 20 question survey was designed and intendedto do 3 things (and only 3 things):First: To see if a leader’s perception about how they are carrying out certain core objectives in educational leadership are the same or different from their staff’s perception. Rights reseved rli llc

  5. Second: To see if a leader’s and/or staffs’ ratings are low in any particular core area (or question) relative to other ratings on that survey.Critical note: each survey is assessed internally and NOT in reference to other surveys) Rights reseved rli llc

  6. Third and the ultimate goal: to assist inquickly and efficiently focus the mentoring process and/or a leader’s personal reflection by finding “weaker” core areas (or components within those areas). Rights reseved rli llc

  7. Analyzing the Report First: a look each pillar and degree of over-all Congruence Second: a look within each pillar at the question by question variance in congruence Third: a focus on specific disconnects with remedies developed by the leader and mentor Rights reseved rli llc

  8. Critical notes • Disconnects do not necessarily result in an issue deserving of capacity • The goal is to decided upon which critical areas the leader is going to focus on • Then decide in concert with the mentor ways to address those issues • Progress can only be ascertained by repeating the Congruence survey annually. 9. A look at the data graphs Rights reseved rli llc

  10. Stronger Congruency Weaker Congruency How to “interpret” a congruency graph and raw response data Rights reseved rli llc

  11. Variations across areas and/or questions Probably focus mentoring/reflection here – lack of congruency and lower Likert ratings overall Rights reseved rli llc

  12. Other possibly scenarios? Both areas are congruent, but one has higher ratings and one has lower ratings Rights reseved rli llc

  13. Other possibly scenarios? Inversion - Leader’s ratings lower than staff’s (?) Rights reseved rli llc

  14. Other possibly scenarios? Both ratings higher but a lack of congruency (maybe?) Rights reseved rli llc
