eInduction streamlines the preparation and induction of drop shipments and expedited plant load mailings
eInduction supports use of all eDoc types, linking payment data and appointment data to container barcodes
eInduction provides flexibility and supports mailers using non-standard preparations
Mailers can increase the chances their containers are inducted with these tips: • Make sure barcodes are clear, readable, and survive the trip • Check eInduction status prior to shipping containers • Optional:Associate containers to appointments - it makes it easier to resolve containers • Optional:Include an eInductionflag on the pallet placard • Optional:Include the Appointment # on the Bill of Lading
eInduction – Status • Activated Nationally Oct 1, 2013 • 25 mailers participating • Metrics:
SV Expansion • SV will be expanded to 10 additional sites, beginning in February 2014
IM-DAS: Non-SV Solution • Current non-SV process poses several problems: • Requires association of containers to appointments • Lacks ability to track individual containers Proposed Process-Induction Sites Appointment # # of containers on 8125s Total # of containers Leverages USPS mandate to scan all containers at non-SV sites using IM-DAS scanners Validations are performed post-induction as IMDAS scanners lack wireless capabilities that allow for real-time validations
eInduction Mailer Management – Onboarding • The following process describes how mailers start participating in eInduction • Contact the FAST Helpdesk • FAST@usps.gov or 1-877-569-6614 • BMS Analyst assigned and BMEU/DMU personnel trained • BMS checks eDoc for eInduction readiness • Mailer CRID activated when BMEU/DMU personnel trained eInduction Mailer Onboarding
eInduction Mailer Management – Monitoring • The following process will be followed for mailers participating in eInduction to evaluate mail quality on a weekly basis • Weekly: BMS Analyst reviews mail quality for each mailer set to eInduction • Mailer reviews Shipping Summary/MicroStratey eInduction report for errors • BMS Analyst identifies mailers with mail quality issues • BMS Analyst contacts mailers above thresholds and informs them of errors above thresholds • BMS Analyst and mailer work together to develop a plan to resolve mail quality errors eInduction Mailer Monitoring
