Promotion/Retention Policy PROMOTION TO THE: 10th grade 5 units (1 English; 1 Math; 1 Science) 11th grade 10 units (2 English; 2 Math; 1 Science) 12th grade 16 units (3 English; 3 Math; 2 Science, 1 Social Studies)
Graduation Requirements = 23 Units Dependent upon post-secondary plans

Options for Meeting Mathematics Diploma Requirements Traditional Mathematics Course Pathway (…does not yet reflect accelerated course pathway) This chart does not address University System of Georgia (USG) requirements for colleges and universities. Receipt of a high school diploma with minimal math coursework (Math I – II and Support I & II for Core Credit) will not qualify a student for entrance in the University System of Georgia (USG).
HOPE SCHOLARSHIPwww.GACollege411.org Must graduate with a “B” average (3.0 GPA) in ALL CORE ACADEMICclasses & retain that same GPA in college to remain eligible for the scholarship. A = 4; B = 3; C = 2; D (70)= 1; F = 0 GSFC determines eligibility and calculates official GPA. * The award will cover 90 percent of tuition * Resident of Georgia. Be enrolled as a degree-seeking student at an eligible public or private college/university or technical college in GA. Check your child’s HOPE GPA on gacollege411.org
HOPE SCHOLARSHIP Cont.www.GACollege411.org The Zell Miller Scholarship’s addition is among the changes to the HOPE. • It will cover complete tuition costs for students who graduate high school with at least a 3.7 GPA & have a combined 1200 SAT score on the math and reading sections or score at least a 26 on the ACT. • In order for recipients to retain the scholarship, they must maintain a 3.3 GPA in college. • Students who lose HOPE or the Zell Miller Scholarship will have one chance to regain their scholarship. *Please visit GAcollege411.org for additional information*
