WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? Practice what you preach Spread the word Report your progress
Spread The Word • Use your knowledge to educate others • Try to convey the importance and ease of managing your private water system properly • NEVER give specific recommendations or professional advice – refer to County Extension Office
Use the information from the “Penn State Recommends” Activity
How do you educate 100 people? • Spread the word to neighbors, friends, and family • Spread the word to groups that you belong to or meetings that you commonly attend • Be a guest speaker at a watershed group meeting or for a group like the Boy Scouts • Host your own meeting and advertise it in your local paper • Attend a fair or other event where you can use a display • Be available in your local county to answer questions at a satellite workshop that Penn State gives.
Getting Credit For Your Contacts • Get names of people that you talk to (≥20) • Better yet - get their email or address so that we can send them more information (email preferred) • Send sheet into Stephanie Clemens for credit (via fax, mail, email, etc.) Fax to: 814-865-3378 (make sure to include my name) Mail to: 132 Land and Water Research Bldg. University Park, PA 16802 Email to: mwon@psu.edu (contacts can be typed out)
