AIS Printing How to Configure Windows XP SP2 for use with AIS TCP printing
Problem • Recently installed Windows XP SP2 • No longer able to print to local TCP printer
Pre-Check • Click Start then right-click My Computer & select Properties • Printer is attached to your computer • Can print Screen Captures, email & office documents • A TCP number is assigned to that printer
Instructions • Click Start then click on Control Panel
Instructions • There are two view for the Control Panel • Category View (default) • Classic View • Double-click Security Center
Instructions • The Security Center dialog box appears • Click once on Windows Firewall
Instructions • The Firewall should be ON (we do not recommend turning off) • If you have another type of Firewall running on your computer this will be turned off. • Select Exceptions tab at the top
Instructions • On the Exceptions tab click the Add Port button
Instructions • Enter the following to the Add Port dialog box Name: AIS Mainframe Printing Port number: 515 Select TCP option • Click the Change Scope button
Instructions • Select Custom List • Enter IP 128.118.109.3 • Click OK button • Click OK to close the Add Port dialog box
Instructions • AIS Mainframe Printing should appear in the list • Click OK • You should now be able to print
Continued Problems • If you are still unable to print contact AIS Support at 863-2276 • They may have to clear your queue & run tests on your TCP number/printer • If they cannot get you printing you will have to submit a Service Request
