The Moral Will of God “God’s revealed COMMANDS in the Bible, teaching us how we ought to BELIEVE AND LIVE.”
Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God (His sovereign will – secret will) but the things revealed belong to us and our children forever, that we may follow all the words of the law.” (His moral will – revealed will)
God's Sovereign Will - determines - God's Moral Will - declares - 1. It may change from O.T. to N.T. 2. It may or may not come to pass. 3. We may choose to obey or violate it. 4. It constitutes our duties to God 5. It prescribes the pathway of blessing John 13:17; Psalm 119:1
The Individual Will of God “God’s unrevealed will God’s ideal, detailed life-plan uniquely designed for each person.” Examples: Joseph, Paul
Discerning GOD'S WILL
DISCERNING GOD'S WILL 1. It begins with a daily walk of submission and obedience to God’s revealed (moral) will. 2. It may be indicated by the desires of your heart. Phil. 2:13; Psalm 37:4 3. It may be confirmed by the peace Of God. Col. 3:15 4. It may simply be a step of faith.Col. 2:6
