  1. EIC Week of Oct 17th- 21st

  2. Turn-in Tuesday • Everyone should turn-in their three half page summaries about three careers they are considering and the skills and requirements for each. • Everyone should also submit the three scholarships for which they qualify and the requirements for each. Have you submitted these applications yet?

  3. Old issues • If you do not have a topic and thesis yet, you MUST have one now (as in Tuesday 8am). • If you want to change your topic, talk to your EIC teacher TODAY. • Heritage Projects are due November 15th, less than a month from now, so make sure you are working on it.

  4. EIC research this week • Students will get one day of research during EIC; you have already gotten two days in Economics. • You need to continue researching on your own!

  5. College/Career Portfolio • Have you been collected all the parts of your College Portfolio? • So far you have completed everything but your Notes from your Parent Conversation. • You need to sit down with your parents/guardians & discuss this project & your larger plans with them for at least 15 minutes. • You must write a one page (or longer) summary of that conversation for your portfolio. Your parents/guardians must sign your summary for you to receive any credit for this portion.

  6. College/Career Portfolio • Once you have completed the first seven parts, you need to finish your final part, your reflection. • Your reflection should be at least 2 pages in length. • You should answer questions like: What surprised you? What was easier/harder than you expected? What did you learn? Did you change your mind on anything? Anything else you think is important.

  7. College/Career Portfolio Due • Your College/Career Portfolio is due November 1st to your EIC teacher • It needs to include all eight parts and be presented in a professional manner in a folder. • Your name should be clearly visible and you should include a table of contents. • The eight parts are: (1) post high school plans, (2) possible career choices, (3) scholarship info, (4) compare/contrast, (5) essay, (6) resume, (7) parent notes, (8) your reflection
