Transactions Performance Starting from Q4 2009, IEEE monitors the performance of our journal with the following report: In Q1 2010 we had the worst performance among 59 journals included in the report.
Transactions Performance Wehavetoincrease the performance ofourTransactions! • HOW: • by reducing the time given to authors to revise a paper: • major changes: 4 months (was 6) • minor changes: 2 months (unchanged) • by adopting a “strict” deadline policy for revision submission: • late authors will have to start a new submission • by monitoring and putting more pressure on Associate Editors
AE Performance • In order to improve AE performance: • set up automatic reminders in ScholarOne web site to be sent when AE are late; • run monthly the AE performance report to monitor AEs behavior; • send monthly to each AE his own copy of the report and eventually remind late tasks.
Scholar1 Administration • In the first half of 2010, the Editor Assitant worked with IEEE and ScholarOne support to manage ITS Magazine submissions with the same ScholarOne web site of Transactions. First Magazine paper has been submitted on August 28 2010. • The implementation required an intense self-training on Scholar1 architecture. ITS MAGAZINE IMPLEMENTATION
Scholar1 Administration AEs Performance • In August 2010, after a deep study of the new reporting functionalities enabled in Oct 2009, the Editor Assistant restored the AE performance report that ScholarOne was no longer able to support after version migration in June 2008. • The knowledge of Scholar1 architecture gained during ITS Magazine implementation allowed the Editor Assistant to find a way to set up reminders to monitor AEs tasks.
