Mirror Lil Wayne Ft Bruno Mars
Uh, With everything happening today You don't know whether you're coming or going But you think that you're on your way Life lined up on the mirror, don't blow it (Whoo!) Look at me when I'm talking to you You lookin' at me, but I'm lookin' through you I see the blood in your eyes I see the love in disguiseI see the pain hidden in your pride I see you're not satisfied And I don't see nobody else I see myself I'm lookin' at the
Chorus - Bruno Mars: Mirror on the wall Here we are again (yeah) Through my rise and fall (uh) You've been my only friend (yeah) You told me that they can understand the man I am So why are we here Talking to each other again?
(uh) I see the truth in your lies I see nobody by your side But I'm with you when you're all alone And you correct me when I'm lookin' wrong I see the guilt beneath the shame I see your soul through your windowpane I see the scars that remain I see Wayne I'm looking at the
Chorus - Bruno Mars: Mirror on the wall Here we are again (yeah) Through my rise and fall (uh-huh) You've been my only friend (my only friend) You told me that they can Understand the man I am (they can understand) So why are we here (misunderstood) Talking to each other again?
Looking at me now, I can see my past Damn, I look just like my f***in' Dad Light it up, that's smoke in mirrors I even look good in a broken mirror I see my Mama's smile, that's a blessing I see the change; I see the message And no message coulda been any clearer So I'm starting with the man in the
Chorus - Bruno Mars: Mirror on the wall (MJ taught me that) Here we are again Through my rise and fall (uh) You've been my only friend (take 'em to Mars, man) You told me that they can understand the man I am So why are we Talking to each other again?
Mirror on the wall Here we are again (yeah) Through my rise and fall You've been my only friend (any questions)You told me that they can (I come to you) Understand the man I am (you always have the answer) So why are we here Talking to each other again? Mirror on the wall (Hey BP, looks like I did take 'em to Mars this time) So why are we talking to each other again?
Why this song?!? I chose this song because of it’s lyrics. Mirror is an amazing song it has deep lyrics that get you thinking. You think about your life, your mistakes, and what are you going to do to make a change.
Speaker I think the speaker is the artist himself . Lil Wayne is talking about his life, his mistakes, and how he is going to change.
Literary device #1 Personification- Lil Wayne and Bruno Mars are talking to a mirror as if it was a person he is talking to. “Mirror on the wall Here we are again (yeah) Through my rise and fall (uh) You've been my only friend (yeah) You told me that they can understand the man I am So why are we here Talking to each other again?.” they are talking to the mirror asking the mirror question as if the mirror will respond. Personification is when you give an animal, or object human characteristics.
Literary device #2 Repetition- Lil Wayne is using repetition when he says “I see the blood in your eyes I see the love in disguiseI see the pain hidden in your pride I see you're not satisfied And I don't see nobody else I see myself I'm lookin' at the.” He repeats the same sound in the last word. When you repeat the same word, phrase, line, or sound, the poem or song in this case is using repetition as a literary device.
Literary device #3 Metaphor- When Lil Wayne says “Light it up, that's smoke in mirrors.” He is using the literary device metaphor by comparing two unlike things. Lil Wayne is comparing The smoke and the mirror as if the smoke is going to make him feel better of what he sees in the mirror.
Interpretation Mirror the song by Lil Wayne could have many meanings. What I think the lyrics mean is about how he is alone in the world. How the only person he can truly trust is himself. It’s a song about change and before trying to change someone else he has to change himself.
Katniss Everdeen The character I think could best relate with the song mirror is Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games. Katniss just like Lil Wayne struggled withleaving their past behind. It keeps haunting them.
Katniss Everdeen Another reason is that Katniss and Lil Wayne feel pain, sadness, and they know that the only person they can truly trust is themselves. This is why I think Katniss can relate to the song mirror by Lil Wayne.
