Here’s how you present any task or behavior… • Define the task (for you 1st) • Define performance • Teach at the most basic (crawl) • Introduce additional conditions progressively and sequentially (walk) • Force/Reinforce the standard through exposure (run)
Training Principles • Training needs to be progressive • Progress at the speed of the dog • Akin – FF 10x/day (2-4 weeks) • Not too fast or slow • Training needs to be sequential • Basics first then complex • Drill for skill – (crawl – walk – run) • Expose for Expertise (run)
