The Pathway to Inquiry Based Science Teaching 3 yr project 23 partners 3.4 M Euro Kick-off : Athens 13/1/2011 % ATLAS+CMS+CERN
The Pathway to Inquiry Based Science Teaching The project is addressed to Science TEACHERS It will “educate” teachers to use Inquiry based teaching and follow them up to determine how the new techniques improved their teaching skills IASA is responsible to develop activities which promote school-research center collaboration. Connection with CERN is the ideal setting.
The Pathway to Inquiry Based Science Teaching Have to organize: A community of “change leaders” for IBSE teaching Workshops (vision,implimentation,practice) Training activities for diffusion Masterclasses Contests of students and teachers • Will use and develop: • Resources of Learning with ATLAS @CERN • CERN teachers’ program • Teachers unique access to experiments and hands-on experience • Connections to nearby French and Swiss school • ATLAS Visitor center • Organized visits of certain nationalities of teachers
