State Prohibited Occupations The following is from the NYS website Labor department. • Certain areas of employment are prohibited. • If you are, or plan to be employed, by any of the following occupations, Think again, it is against the law. • Working for your parents? Same rules apply.
State prohibited occupations • No one under the age of 18 may be employed in or assist in: • Construction work • Which includes: • Wrecking • Demolition • Roofing • Excavating • Painting or exterior cleaning from an elevated surface
State prohibited occupations18 and under • Also includes: • Circular saws • Band saws • Guillotine shears • Slaughter and meat packing establishment
Hazardous occupations. • Manufacturing and storing explosives Prohibited • Exposure to radioactive substances. This may look like garbage However, it is radioactive
Hazardous occupations. • Driving a motor vehicle, and being an outside helper on a motor vehicle. Still to young to be driving. Are we breaking the law?
