Blessed Sacrament Mother’s Guild Newsletter November/December 2012 From the Desk of Mrs. Magnusson A Note of Appreciation From Our President Tracy McTiernan The Last few weeks has brought great change to the lives of many. My heart and my prayers go out to all who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. I know members of our parish were directly affected here on Staten Island and many of us have ties to the Rockaways, Breezy Point and the Jersey Shore. As the holidays approach, I hope the rebuilding process goes smoothly and quickly. The Christmas in Candy Land Fair was a great success! The gym, PCMR and cafeteria looked magical for our children! I would like to thank our fair committee who dealt with many obstacles but never lost sight of the goal: Rich and Jacque Kerney, Patricia and Chris Hughes, Helene Maiello, Venus Vasquez and Daniela Harrington. I would also like to thank our table chairs, all our volunteers and all those who supported the fair. The fair is our biggest fundraiser and it could not happen without all of your hard work and dedication. THANK-YOU! We have some exciting upcoming events! We will be having another Movie Night on Friday, November 30th and we will be showing ThePolar Express. On December 8th Breakfast with Santa returns and we will also have a Toy Train Show in the PCMR. The following day The Train Show continues and we will have a Vendor Show in the cafeteria. I hope you join us for these wonderful events! I would like to wish you a very Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to your continued support and commitment to our children! Dear Parents, Let us continue to pray for all the families that are dealing with so much distress during these difficult days after the hurricane. Thank you for all the support you have given for this cause. Also, thank you for your support for our food drive for Thanksgiving. This is such a wonderful time of year whereby we are able to reconnect with family and friends and enjoy the gifts of the season. We are grateful to the Mother’s Guild for their continuous support and wonderful fundraising efforts. Our Christmas fair was beautiful and enjoyed by all. At this time I extend to you a very Merry Christmas and hope to see you at our November Mother’s Guild Meeting. _____
