Objectives • Maatwerk bij Terugkeer assists ex-asylum seekers and undocumented migrants in the Netherlands who wish to return to their country of origin by removing obstacles and provision of reintegration support • Contribute to knowledge gain on return migration among Northern and Southern (development) organizations • Positively influence the opinion (through lobby) of different actors (a.o. government) on the problems surrounding asylum- and return policies

  3. Mediation • Maatwerk bij Terugkeer works as a mediation office between client and local partner in country of origin • Concrete question for assistance should come from the client (or with help of a counselor ) • The partner organization is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the reintegration process of the returnee until a maximum of one year after return

Idia Renaissance • established in 1999 to respond to the problem of human trafficking in Nigeria particularly in Edo State where the trend assumed an unimaginable dimension. • established the Youth Resource Centre with UNICEF to provide information, skills and services to youths in Edo State to reduce the problems of human trafficking and other social, health and economic problems common among youths, children and young women. • experience working with voluntary returnees in delivering family tracing, reception at the International airport, supporting returnees get hotel accommodation in Lagos and transportation to final destinations, providing business counseling services and supporting returnee’s resettling including setting up businesses. • Voluntary Return with AGEF, Micado Migration Germany and Maatwerk bij Terugkeer

Idia Renaissance works in close cooperation with the focal point Maatwerk bij Terugkeer in Europe for the following reasons: • To centralize the pre-departure files through an ERSO European focal point (Maatwerk bij Terugkeer) in order to realize an uniform work method; • To have one contact point who is in daily contact with Idia Renaissance; • For institutional support and to employ one monitoring system for the ERI project; • Collaborate in the development of a (civil society) network that is able to provide sustainable reintegration support throughout the entire country (national coverage); • Being the intermediary -contact person in EU for the states departments; • Additional support for vulnerable groups in the 5 ERI countries;

Service provider Nigeria • Develop digital folders in official languages of the Country of Return ( focussed on the cliënt? ) • Developing of a briefing note in English, every 6 months ( for who?) • Organize a single point of contact (SPOC), answering the email within 2 working days • A daily direct counseling service with a minimum of 2 hours per working day • Idia Renaissance has the capacity to deliver a direct counseling service now in Benin city and Lagos. • Posses the skills and tools to develop specific information strategies tailored to the nationality of the Country of Return • UAM study

  12. Services • family tracing on request. This is to notify the family members of the return and prepare them to receive the returnee with the possibility of also meeting to receive him/her at the airport on arrival, thereby creating a good atmosphere for reunion. • Pick up at the Lagos international airport is the bureaucratic immigration procedure considering their immigration status. T • Tansportation to a hotel and make reservations (if applicable) in Lagos and also arrange safe transportation to final destination in Nigeria. • Administer questionnaires/carry out counseling sessions in a convenient and professional manner while establishing a good feedback mechanism for follow up on other services. • Set up a monitoring system with institutional support of Maatwerk bij Terugkeer and they will contact the returnee at least two times within 12 months to follow-up the reintegration process.

( this info willbeinclude in the digital folder) • Person with EC LP has topay € 50,- at the airport forreceivingan ID. • Temporaryhousing is veryexpensive in Nigeria minimum of € 50,- per night in Lagos!! ( house rent foroneyear in advance) • Extra Information needed on forehand in case of victims of human traffic (Edo State is centreod human trafficking) • Forced return with a reintegration budget of € 500/€ 750,- is ratherverylimitedfor a reintegration plan. • Information requiredby IDIA Renaissance on arrival date of the forced return. • When we are goingtoreceive the annex of France? • No form receivedforsigning the Declaration of Consent for Data Collection and Transmission. • TOR of UAM study??
