OurMission The mission of Business Professionals of America is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills.

Levels of Competition • Fall Leadership Conferences – Presented by different areas across the state, check www.texasbpa.com • Regional Leadership Conference – Last three weekends in January. First level of competition, participate in Torch Awards program, State Service Projects, Regional President elected, winners advance to State competition
Levels of Competition • State Leadership Conference -- • March 4-7--Dallas, Texas--Participate in Torch Awards program, Texas Intern Program, State Officer Team elected, winners advance to Nationals • National Leadership Conference -- • May 6-10—Anaheim, California--Participate in Torch Awards, National Intern Program, National Leadership Academy, National Officers elected
Workplace Skills Assessment Program Our Competitive Events are divided into four divisions: • Financial Services • Administrative Support • Information Technology • Management/Marketing/Human Resources
Torch Awards • 9 Torches– faith, hope, love, friendship, cooperation, patriotism, leadership, service, knowledge • Promotes community involvement, adaptability and action inside and outside of BPA. • 4 Levels– diplomat, executive, statesman, ambassador
BPA Cares (Community Service) • Service Learning Awards • Special Olympics and Community Relief • Special Recognition Awards • Chapter Award of Excellence and Member Recruiter • Professional Awards • Emerging Advisor Award Individual recognition • Merit Scholar Program
Leadership Initiatives Internship Program • Provides opportunities for students to be involved in all aspects of planning and running a conference. • State Level • National Level
Leadership Initiatives Special Recognition Awards: • Recognition earned by chapters for their commitment to community service Officer Positions • Regional President • State Officer Team • National Officer Team National Leadership Academy
Leadership Initiatives Scholarships • Offered at the state level • $2500-Mildred Woerndel Scholarship • $2000-Vickie Thomas Scholarship • 1-$1500, 5-$1000, 2-$750 • Offered at the national level • Offered by the National Officer Team • Specific colleges and sponsorships for success in certain programs and competitions.
