  1. BONUS+ +QUT Margrethe Gould QUT BONUS+ Coordinator AIUG 2010

  2. BONUS+ Member Libraries • QLD – QUT, August 2010 • New Zealand - Massey University, July 2009 • WA – Murdoch University (2008), Edith Cowan University (2010) • Victoria - Deakin University, University of Ballarat, University of Melbourne, Victoria University, La Trobe 2010 • NSW - UTS, University of Newcastle • 11+ out of 28 Innovative Millennium libraries in the Australasian region

  3. BONUS+ • Uses the INN-Reach resource sharing software • Collection contribution differs for each member library • Individual profiling determines contribution using specified codes in bibliographic, item, serials and order records and location codes • Interaction with the central server in real time • Global update vs rapid update vs individual record updates

  4. BONUS+ continues to expand • Catalogue database Oct 10: 2.7 million bibliographic records, 5.9 million items • More copies available to share • More titles - 66% items unique titles • Regional groupings in NSW, Victoria, WA priority borrowing/lending

  5. Closer bibliographic relations • Working co-operatively in the region • Continues to be very popular with clients • Statistics continue to rise, Oct 07 to Oct 10 • 170,978 requests, 153,293 fulfillments • Unmediated online requesting of monograph titles not available at local library

  6. BONUS+ QUT System set up: jointly carried out by III, Bonus server administrator, Bonus Coordinator and QUT Profiling sheet: defines codes for bib location, bcode3, icode2 and local patron and item types mapping to central item and patron codes Testing: Record load by III and testing with UNEWC Training: Bonus server administrator and Bonus Coordinator conduct hands on training Procedures: Newcastle happily shared and then adapted for QUT

  7. QUT Launches BONUS+ Go Live set for Wednesday 14 July • Not successful. System-wide outage. Effected Webpac, Circ, ILL and Program Registration – all down for entire day • Possible option was to do a full system restore but gave III time to fix problem • Reason: Rel 2009A failed when interfacing with the deploy set architecture – attributed to conflicts with Program Registration module • Resolution: Partial patch to Rel 2009B as the deploy set architecture more evolved. Full upgrade to 2009B done in September.

  8. QUT Launches BONUS+ - Take 2 Go Live on Thursday August 5 • Successfully launched, same week as La Trobe • Commenced with 45,000 items and currently increasing this to 100,000+ items located within the QUT Library Store • QUT Fulfilments Aug – Oct 1188 • QUT Supply Aug – Oct 54

  9. QUT Launches BONUS+ Some Issues: • Changes were made to the BONUS+ login screen as we use QUT authentication not PINS • QUT has to link to http site not https because of our Internet and authentication process • Link to UNSW (InnReach link) stopped after upgrade to 2009B but III forced a restart of this link)
