Purpose of QUT ePrints • To increase the visibility, accessibility and impact of QUT research outputs • To raise the profile of QUT researchers • To attract high-quality research students to QUT • To contribute to the global corpus of ‘open access’ research literature
New Developments in 2010 • RM Ingest 2002-2008 (records without fulltext) now 26,000 records • 2009 onwards HERDC input via QUT ePrints ( recommended route) • Library staff doing first pass at verification • Upgrade of eprints– faster • BibTexImport plug-in installed
Selling the message to authors • Increased visibility- Google algorithm favours OAI-PMH • Download stats monitored • Growing evidence of increased downloads causing increased citation counts • Contact between authors instigated via QUT ePrints - collaborative networking enabled • Practitioners in the field able to see research –those without access to database subscriptions

Publications linked into Staff Profile Pages • Eprint records linked into RAD which along with HR data feeds Staff Profile Pages.
HERDC Form: For information to appear in the pre-populated HERDC collection form, you must first enter it into the relevant box on the QUT ePrints deposit form.
