Review of Wireless Phases • In FCC terms: • Phase I • Call back number • Tower information (Cell/Sector information - Phase .5) • Phase II • Phase I data • XY Lat/Long (Latitude and Longitude) coordinates
CAD and Wireless ANI/ALI • Standard ANI/ALI • Reformats packet • Sends packet to Answering Position • Stores packet in database • Phase I Wireless • Works the same as Standard ANI/ALI
CAD and Wireless ANI/ALI • Phase II Wireless • Similar processing to Standard and Phase I • Parses optional XML to CAD compatible string • Converts XY Lat/Long coordinates to map XY coordinates
Dispatching Considerations • Standard ANI/ALI • Wireline 911 call • Caller’s address is displayed and verified in the Location field • Verified location is displayed on map • Phone number is displayed in Callers Number field • Wireless 911 call • Cell carrier phone number is displayed to Calltaker
Dispatching Considerations • Phase I ANI/ALI • Wireline 911 call • Same as Standard ANI/ALI • Wireless 911 call • Address of nearest tower to the caller is entered in the Location field. The sector of the tower may be appended to the address as a comment • pAni number may display in the Additional Information or Callers Number field • Call back number may display in the Phone Number field or in Additional Information

Mapping Considerations • Map Data Accuracy • Accuracy will become apparent as coordinates are obtained from external sources, such as AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) or Wireless ANI/ALI • For network based location systems, the FCC accuracy requirement is within 100 meters 67% of the time and within 300 meters 95% of the time • For handset based location systems, the FCC accuracy requirement is within 50 meters 67% of the time and 100 meters 95% of the time.
