Goodbye Oahu, Hello Hilo!. By: LeGrand Pound. Say Your Last Goodbyes. We went to school at 3:30 A.M. We were all ready, and we said goodbye. We climbed onto the bus. Some of us cried “GOODBYE” and we were off. We finally came to the airport. We all climbed onto the plane and let Oahu. .

  2. Say Your Last Goodbyes • We went to school at 3:30 A.M. • We were all ready, and we said goodbye. • We climbed onto the bus. • Some of us cried “GOODBYE” and we were off. • We finally came to the airport. • We all climbed onto the plane and let Oahu.

  3. Hello Hilo • We just reached Hilo and went onto our bus. • We drove into Hilo and went to the Farmers Market. • All of us got into groups and toured the Market. • After about 10 minutes, we met together. • We went to Mokupapapa Discovery Center.

  4. Mokupapapa • After the farmers market, we went to Mokupapapa. • At the discovery center we learned about the sea. • Do you know what trash does to sea creatures? I do! • After that, we went to the Lyman Museum.

  5. The Lyman Museum Here, we learned about the Lyman family. We looked through the house and the museum. After about an hour, we went back to the camp for lunch and left for Akaka Falls.

  6. Akaka Falls • Here we hiked trail to the falls. • We learned the most interesting story. • We all took loads of pictures of it. • Finally, we went back and went to KMC.

  7. KMC Dinner • We all got ready and we waited at the door. • We went in and ate until we were stuffed. • After we went to arcade and spent 30 minutes there. • My group was the last there!!! • We went back to the cabins, worked and then went to bed.

  8. Can’t wait ‘till tomorrow!!

  9. Rainbow Falls and Naha Stone • We came to the drizzle of Rainbow Falls. • Here, we didn’t take much pictures. • After about what seemed like 5 minutes, we left for the Naha stone. • We took lots of pictures here. • Everyone tried to lift the rock, NO ONE COULD!! • We heard the story, and then left.

  10. The Tsunami and Jaggered Museum • After the naha stone, we came to the tsunami museum. • We all learned about survivors and the most terrifying tsunamis. • We left after 30 minutes we left for the Jaggered Museum with our tour guide. • Then we left for the Thurston Lava Tube.

  11. Thurston Lava Tube • We walked through the place were lava used to flow. • It was dark and when you took a picture, the flash burned your eyes. • After a while, we came back to the light and hiked back to the bus to go to the devastation trail.

  12. Devastation Trail • We came to the begging were we looked for Peles Tears. • After this, we went on with the trail. • I saw brown sandy ground, burned tree spots, and interesting trees. • When we came to the end there was a canyon that if you yelled, it would echo as if someone was yelling the same thing on the other side!!!

  13. Lights out at KMC • We came to KMC and took showers and went to bed. • Everyone was tired and slept like a rock! • I was still surprised we only had one more day to stay!!!!

  14. Almost the third day!!

  15. Get up and Lets Go To Black sand Beach! • We woke up early ate breakfast and went to the Black sand Beach. • We saw tiki poles and petroglephs. • Annalise and I played tick-tack-toe in the sheet of black sand. • We also saw two turtles and lots of fish. • Then we went to the beach park for our petrogleph rubbings.

  16. Petrogleph Rubbings and Onizuka Space Museum • Here we came to the place where the petroglephs were. • We rubbed and ate lunch . We left for the museum. • We checked in our bags and then learned about a man in space. • We worked on our book and then left on the plane for Oahu.

  17. Welcome Back!!! • We went on the plane and were surely ready to get home. • We went to the airport, on the bus, and to our school. • When I got to my house, I went to bed and slept for two hours past my wake up time!! I was happy to be home!!!!!!
