Requirements for Higher Education • Higher Certificate • A basic National Senior Certificate i.e. 40% or above in 3 subjects including home language, 30% or above in 4 other subjects
Requirements for Higher Education • Diploma • An achievement rating of 40% or above in 4 subjects and 30% or above in 3 remaining subjects. NB: A home language must be passed with 40%
Requirements for Higher Education • Bachelor’s degree • An achievement rating of 50% or above in 4 designated subjects and 30% or above in 3 remaining subjects. NB: A home language must be passed with 40% • All Brebner subjects fall in the designated subject list
Admission scores for Higher Education • Each university or university of Technology has its own admission scores for the various academic programmes. • Admission scores are calculated on the basis of the learner’s performance in various subjects. • The learners must achieve a particular rating before the can be admitted to certain programmes
Admission Scores for UFS.Life orientation is usually excluded.
Scores needed for acceptance at UFS • For most programmes learners will need 30 points and a minimum of 50% in their chosen language of instruction at UFS. • For certain programmes a required level in a certain subject will be required. For a B.Sc degree a level of 70% for Mathematics is required. • 36 Overall points needed for B.Com
Admission Scores for CUT.Life orientation is usually excluded.
Scores needed for acceptance at CUT • For a degree, diploma or certificate a candidate will need at least 27 points in the grade 12 June Examination. • If a candidate fails to qualify for admission to the CUT, such a candidate may apply to the subject testing of potential.
