Project Overview Creating a Healthy Cookbook Second graders will finish the healthy version of their favorite recipes this week. They will publish their final versions after editing this week. In order to practice measuring, students will create “Mr. and Mrs. Gallon” this week. They will also get to apply these skills while we make some special recipes with the class during stations. We are excited about their recipes and the information they have learned about making healthy choices to help fight childhood obesity!

Math • This week in math, you will be working on creating a Google presentation on the Twelve Days of Christmas. Your presentation should include the following: • Your Name • Title • Each slide should represent a different day for the Twelve Days of Christmas with an item or items that someone gave you (or that you gave someone) and the total cost for that item. For example, on the first day of Christmas, you might receive a pencil from your teacher that cost 25 cents. On the second day of Christmas, you might receive two erasers that cost 10 cents each for a total of 20 cents. • Your last slide should be a grand total amount for all of the items that you received in your presentation. • If you have time, go back and add pictures of the items in each of your slides.
