  5. Headwear/Hairstyle -Shaved -Combed -Coloured -Helmet -Hat -Mask -Cardboard -Cowl

  6. Other Features -Cape. -Belt. -Cloak. -Anything considered an accessory.

  8. Popular Colours/Designs • Cosplayers would wear colours that are bright. • There weren’t necessarily popular designs because each one was unique.

  9. Cosplay’s Role • Since the emergence of comic books, fans have shown their dedication through cosplay. • Notable icons like Princess Leia and Justice League set the standard clothing for what goes into their costume such as tight spandex, military armor, and other accessories. • Most costumes have unisex appeal entitled a “Gender Bender”.

  10. Icons/Designers • Notable icons of the superhero fashion includes heroes like Spiderman and Batman. • There were no specific designers, and the articles of clothing are often homemade or bought in certain places.

  11. Pop Culture’s Influence on Cosplay • Pop culture gave thousands of people inspiration to who they want to dress up as. -Kick-Ass 1&2 (April 16, 2010, August 16, 2013) -Knights of Badassdom (Unreleased) -Role Models (November 7, 2008)

  12. Cosplay’s Parallel “Dimension” • Cosplay is also useful in Live-Action RolePlay(LARP) • LARPing enables everyone to be original.

  13. Historical/Cultural Events June 1, 1938- Action Comics #1 is released. 1975 and beyond- Comic book craze is released. 1970-1980s- LARPing goes from tabletop, to out in the field. July 27-30, 1995- San-Diego begins to host Comic-con at the San Diego Convention Center. April 7-7. 2012- Vancouver Fan Expo began to set for the Canadian west coast.
