Cosplay’s Role • Since the emergence of comic books, fans have shown their dedication through cosplay. • Notable icons like Princess Leia and Justice League set the standard clothing for what goes into their costume such as tight spandex, military armor, and other accessories. • Most costumes have unisex appeal entitled a “Gender Bender”.
Icons/Designers • Notable icons of the superhero fashion includes heroes like Spiderman and Batman. • There were no specific designers, and the articles of clothing are often homemade or bought in certain places.

Historical/Cultural Events June 1, 1938- Action Comics #1 is released. 1975 and beyond- Comic book craze is released. 1970-1980s- LARPing goes from tabletop, to out in the field. July 27-30, 1995- San-Diego begins to host Comic-con at the San Diego Convention Center. April 7-7. 2012- Vancouver Fan Expo began to set for the Canadian west coast.
