  1. Differenttypes of drawing

  2. DRAWING • Drawing is the basic element of art. It can be classified as artistic and technical. • ARTISTIC DRAWING shows: feelings, nature, realism, abstract ideas etc.It has no rules and gives freedom to the imagination of the artist. • TECHNICAL DRAWING is known as geometric or mechanic which represents graphically and in an exact way with dimensions machines, plans etc. It is based in exact measurements so as methods and procedures.

  3. PENCILS :Hard pencils are H,2H,3H,up to 10H .These are used for the basic plain drawing . The soft ones are the B’s up to 12B.They are used for adding details ,shades volume ,chiaroscuro etc. • INK: It is used with drawings that need precision. It can be diluted with water and it can create a great variety of tones. There are different types of inks but the most recommended is the Chinese ink. • CHARCOAL :It is the fastest way to draw but some drawings do not last since it falls down easily. It also makes it difficult to get certain tones and highlights. Charcoal can be spreaded with fingers or with cotton.

  4. BASIC DRAWING CONCEPTS

  5. WHEN LEARNING TO DRAW IT IS NECESSARY TO APPLY CERTAIN RULESTHAT ARE COMMON AND EASY TO FOLLOW.IT MAKES YOUR COMPOSITION MORE REALISTIC. • PERSPECTIVE: DRAWING OR PAINTING TECHNIQUE IN WHICH OBJECTS APPEAR TO HAVE MORE DEPTH AND DISTANCE . ALSO OBJECTS CLOSER TO THE VIEWER APPEAR BIGGER WHILE THE ONES FARTHER AWAY APPEAR SMALLER. THE CLOSER ONES ARE DRAWN IN A LOWER PLANE WHILE THE FARTHER ONES ARE IN A HIGHER PLANE. • TONAL PERSPECTIVE :THIS PERSPECTIVE FOLLOWS THE SAME CHARACTERISTICS AS THE ONE MENTIONED BEFORE. IT ALSO HAS TONES OR COLORS WHERE THE OBJECTS FARTHER AWAY ARE SHOWN IN A LIGHTER TONE WHILE THE ONES CLOSER APPEAR DARKER.

  6. FOCAL POINT: THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT SEGMENT OR FIGURE IN A DRAWING,A POINT OF INTEREST,A POINT OF FOCUS.EVERY COMPOSITION MUST HAVE ONE . THIS MAKES THE WHOLE PICTURE MORE ATTRACTIVE.IT USUALLY HAS A DIFFERENT SIZE,SHAPE ,TONE OR COLOR. • CONCAVITY: CURVE DRAWN INWARD . WHEN DRAWING ROUND OBJECTS IT IS USED AT THE BOTTOM SO AS AT THE TOP . • SYMMETRICAL BALANCE: THIS IS SEEN IN FIGURES THAT ARE DIVIDED IN HALF AND EACH SIDE HAS THE SAME SHAPE AND SIZE. THERE IS A BALANCE. EXAMPLE: A BALL,PERSONS,CARS

  7. HIGHLIGHT: A PORTION OF LIGHT ADDED TO A FIGURE TO MAKE IT MORE REAL AND OUTSTANDING. • JUXTAPOSSITION:PLACING FIGURES SIDE BY SIDE AS THEY APPEAR TO THE VIEWER THOUGH THEY ARE INDIFFERENT PLANES.

  8. TECHNICAL DRAWINGS • GEOGRAPHIC • ARCHITECTURAL • ENGINEERING • TOPOGRAPHIC • Airnautics • Mechanical

  9. ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING

  10. . TECHNICAL DRAWING • Precise drawingshowingquantitiesormeasurements: a precise scaledrawing of something, usuallyprofessionallypreparedforarchitectural, engineering, or industrial purposes, showingdimensionsorquantities. • There are different types of technical drawings; engineering, architectural, maps, mechanical, • Engineering: Drawings of buildings, bridges, roads and others. • Architectural:Drawing of buildings and houses, facades and floor plans. • Mechanical: drawing of machines or parts of machines.

  11. ENGINEERING DRAWING

  12. ELECTRICITY AND ELECTRONIC DRAWING: Electricity drawing is used designing electrical installations and the technical drawing of electric objects and its diagrams(t.v.,radio,irons,etc.) • MARINE AND AIRNAUTICS DRAWINGS: It is used in the designing and constructing boats, submarines, and airplanes. • GEOGRAPHIC DRAWING: It is used for drawing maps. • TOPOGRAPHIC DRAWING :Represents the surface of land and its forms. It is related with geographic drawing.

  13. Artistic drawing • Landscape • Portrait • Cartoon • Natural –realistic • Geometric • Abstract • Decorative • Advertising

NATURAL ARTISTIC DRAWING is the one that uses as model or copies things from nature giving a certain shape, volume and tone. The materials used for this drawing are different types of pencils erasers, ink, and charcoal. • LANDSCAPE DRAWING is a drawing of nature, a scenery. • PORTRAIT: is a drawing of a human faceor animal

No details are added. • Fast: As thewordsaysitthedrawingis done fastwithoutprecisionwereonlyitsmainparts are noticeable and justcertaindetails are fastlyincluded. • Detailed: includingallparts of a composition and allitselements.

  20. PPP different types of drawings • 15 slides – 1 front slide and 13 about drawings. • Groups of 2 • Include title, definition, and 1 picture on each slide.

  21. Make a drawingpad. • Human figures • Stilllives • Fast, contour,detaileddrawings • Pointillism: sphere, fruit, free- 8x10 inches

  22. Evaluation • Exercises 10 pts. • Stilllife 15 pts • Album 15 pts • 3 Pointillismdrawings 30 pts • Exam 10 pts.
