  1. Know How Overhead Cranes for Sale Are Used in Steel Industry An overhead crane is also known as bridge crane is used in various industrial environments. Many industries prefer to go for overhead cranes for sale, as they come at a very low cost. There are many models in this type of crane and industry owners, depending up on the application, choose the best fit. The overhead crane consists of parallel runways with a travelling bridge spanning the gap. The crane hoist, the lifting part, moves along this bridge to carry and move the weight from one place to another. Generally a gantry crane, a type of overhead crane, the bridge is supported by two or more legs, running on a fixed rail at ground level. This model is also known as goliath crane. These cranes are completely different from mobile and construction cranes. They are used in manufacturing industries and for various maintenance applications, where efficiency and downtime are critical factors. Steel industries use this type of cranes especially for refinement process. Every step of the manufacturing process, from the extracting from ore to the finished product, an overhead crane is the ideal one. Pouring of raw materials in to furnace, rolling the hot metal into specific thickness, tempering, annealing, cooling of metal, requires an overhead crane as they can lift and move the weight across the floor easily. Steel extracting units transfer the raw steel to various manufacturing units.

  2. They use these lifting equipments for transferring them on to truck or trains. Industries like automobile use this steel to make different parts of a vehicle, for which they have to heat the metal, give shape, and then cool it. An overhead crane is suitable for all the manufacturing process as it is a safe method to move the goods. Smaller workstation cranes, such as jib cranes or gantry cranes, handle lighter loads in a carpentry workshop or mill. Almost all paper mills use bridge cranes for regular maintenance, as they have to handle huge press rolls and other equipment. This type of cranes are fixed to the units in the construction phase as they make it easier to install heavy cast iron paper drying drums and other massive equipment. Though the initial cost of the bridge crane is an offset, but the application of it in various stages of any manufacturing industry prove that it is a good investment to make. It is very important to chose the correct model and of a good brand to enjoy its benefits.
