Club Officers • Club officers must be currently registered Clark College students. • Clubs may determine additional criteria with regards to officers, provided officers are currently registered students. • The Club Coordinator has the right to review the official student status of officers. • Clubs without officers must ensure that individuals who are made responsible for such activities as event planning, finances, travel, etc. are currently registered students.
Election of Officers • The voting members of a club must be currently registered students. • Clubs may determine additional criteria with regards to voting members, provided they are currently registered students. • Make sure nominees have agreed to be on the ballot. • Campaigning or volunteering are both good ways to promote club involvement • Prepare the ballots before the election, along with the forms for reporting the results. • Select students who are not on the ballot to count the votes. • Students who are counting votes need to remember that the results are confidential.
Selection of Officers • Discuss leadership qualities and the demands of each officer's position. Stress to candidates that a leader should possess both ability and willingness to do the duties that their position entails. • The outgoing President of the club should appoint a student nominating committee. • Remember, its up to you who you want leading your club, and an “interview” is a good way to vet incoming officer applicants • Involve your advisor- they are there to help you!!
Important Reminders • Who has all the club documents? The passwords to email, Facebook, etc.? • Make sure someone who will be here in fall has all of the important information regarding your club!! • If your whole club is transferring then you can keep your important information in your club locker.
Thank your officers! Thought about having a transition party? Great way to move from one set of officers to another
