Importance of Temptations for Christians Importance of Temptations for Jesus • Who is Jesus: Proof of unique status of Jesus as Son of God, capable of defeating evil. • Hope & Encouragement: for persecuted Christians - knowing that Jesus is Son of God and has authority over evil. Also that his teaching is true teaching from God, not infected by evil. • Part of following Jesus: in Lent, Christians pray and fast to defeat evil in their own lives, with God’s help, as disciples of Jesus.
