  1. A SEMINAR REPORT ON GSS, 220 KV, DAUSA Submitted to: Submitted By: Mr. Nagendra jatRAMKISHAN MEENA EE DEPARTMENT FINAL YEAR

  2. INTRODUCTION OF SUBSTATION Sub-station is a subsidiary station of an electricity generation, transmission and distribution system where voltage is transformed from high to low or low to high voltage using transformers.

  3. Design of a Sub-station • Sub-station should be located at load center • Sufficient land area • Grounding • Easy of maintenance • Possibility to Expand • Reliability and Security • Electrical design considerations

  4. Transmission lines from this substation INCOMING 220KV:- Anta–I Anta-II,PGCILBassi-I & II OUTGOING 220KV 1. Alawar 2. Bharathpur 3. Hindaun

  5. 132KV 11 kv 1 Lalsot 1. Dausa 1 2. Bassi 2. Dausa 4 3. Tooga 3.Hodaily • 33KV 4. NagalBairsi • Paprada 5. Dausa 5 • Bhandarej 6. Dausa 3 • Bapi 7. Dausa 2 • padasoli

  6. EQUIPMENTS OF SUB STATION : • Lightning Arrester • Wave traps • Isolator • Instrument Transformers • Power Transformer • Insulator • Circuit Breaker • Power Line Carrier Communication (PLCC)

  7. Lightning Arrester :- • To discharge lightning over voltages and switching over voltages to earth.

  8. Wave Trap:- • To prevent high frequency signals from entering other zones.

  9. Isolators :- • Disconnection under no-load condition for safety, isolation and maintenance.

  10. TYPES OF ISOLATOR • BUS ISOLATOR • LINE ISOLATOR • TRANSFORMER ISOLATING • SWITCH

  11. TRANSFORMER • A TRANSFORMER IS A STATIC AC DEVICE WHICH CONVERT • ELECTRIC ENREGY FROM ONE FORM TO ANOTHER • 1.INSTRUMENTAL TRANSFORMER • CURRENT TRANSFORMER • A C.T IS USED TO STEP DOWN CURRENT FOR • MEASUREMENT,CONTROL AND PROTECTION • POTENTIAL TRANSFORMER • A P.T IS USED TO STEP DOWN VOLTAGE FOR MEASUREMENT, CONTROL AND PROTECTION • 2.POWER TRANSFORMER • 1.CORE TYPE • 2.SHELL TYPE

  12. Current Transformer :- • To step-down currents for measurement, control & protection.

  13. Power Transformer :- • To step-up or step-down the voltage and transfer power from one a.c. voltage another a.c. voltage at the same frequency.

  14. TRANSFORMER COOLING • Natural cooling • Oil blast cooling • Forced oil cooling • Forced air cooling

  15. TRANSFORMER USED • There are 5 transformer are used in grid sub station • 1.220/132(i) & (ii) • 2.132/33 (i) & (ii) • 3.132/11

  16. INSULATOR Pin insulatorSuspension insulatorStay insulatorStrain insulator

  17. Circuit Breaker :- • Automatic switching during normal or abnormal conditions.

  18. CIRCUIT BREAKER • Minimum oil Circuit Breaker • Air Blast Circuit Breaker • SF6 Circuit Breaker • Vacuum Circuit Breaker

  19. POWER LINE CARRIER COMMUNICATION (PLCC) • Wave trap • Coupling Capacitor

  20. EARTHING • Neutral Earthing • Electric Earthing
